Tomorrow I turn 24. As an early birthday present, I’ve officially started sending out my first queries while my editor and I finish polishing up the manuscript. It’ll be ready by the time any requests would come in—which we’re crossing our fingers for!
THE GIRL MADE OF NORTH STONE is my fourth complete manuscript, and the first that I’m querying.
I briefly entertained the thought of joining in on NaNoWriMo this month and got 4,000 words in on a project, but queries, revisions, and development projects for my small editorial journal have taken priority as I try to meet some milestones before the holidays arrive.
Upcoming book projects for the new year include the sequel to THE GIRL MADE OF NORTH STONE, a YA fairytale retelling with a style very reminiscent of Shannon Hale’s THE GOOSE GIRL, and a YA dystopian fantasy that reminds me of THE GIVER. Don’t tempt me to consult my list of 23 additional book ideas!
Wishing you happy reading, happy writing, and warmth as the days grow shorter and colder here.
