Hi, I’m Hannah!
There is nothing I love more than being creative. From graphic design and photography to writing, drawing, painting, pottery, animation, 3D modeling, book binding, video editing, wood burning… I have yet to find a medium I don’t enjoy.
Where it all started
I was raised in a small town in northern Idaho, growing up across the rolling hills of the Palouse and among the towering pines in my backyard. Throughout my childhood I helped my family on our hobby farm; my siblings and I raised goats for the fair. After high school, I moved to Utah and pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Editing and Publishing with a minor in Applied Speech Sciences, paying my own way through college by working various jobs in graphic design and running a part-time wedding photography business.
I married my sweet husband just a year before finishing my program, and with degrees in hand we moved back to my home state of Idaho to pursue jobs in the corporate sphere. In 2024, we welcomed a baby boy to our family, and now we spend all our evenings together doing art projects, exploring the outdoors, and reading books.
I write like I’m running out of time.
Like many writers, publishing a book is one of my lifelong dreams. I started making stories for my family at seven or eight years old; I hand-painted a Christmas picture book at nine, went all-out for a 6th grade writing assignment at eleven, started my first novel at thirteen and finished my second at seventeen. I had magazine submissions published at eight, thirteen, and fifteen. By the time I graduated with my publishing degree, I had sociolinguistic research under my belt and was halfway through my third manuscript. This was the first novel I queried.
I took a break from writing to have my son and then jumped back in with both feet, putting together a writer’s workbook, joining as a board member for the Idaho Writers Guild, teaching at a writing conference, and drafting my fourth manuscript. This manuscript, Villain Theory, is now in revision as my agent and I prepare to submit it to publishers. Find out more about it here!
In the nonfiction world, I conducted a research project on the sociolinguistic impacts of the Russian-Ukranian War and was invited to present my conclusions alongside six other panelists at the 18th International Pragmatics Conference, July 2023, in Brussels, Belgium. The research findings of that panel have now been compiled into a manuscript that is up for publication with Cambridge University Press as of January 2026.
My philosophy on creativity
I’ve worked professionally in graphic design and photography for eight years. I love cultivating deep meaning and asking deep questions with every project; my ultimate goal as a creator is to stand at the intersection between language and design (my two favorite disciplines), fusing them in powerful ways that really speak to our audiences and drive meaningful impact.
I call it speaking visually, and it’s what I hope to help each of my clients achieve through our collaborative efforts.
