Hi, I’m Hannah!
Welcome to my space. I’m a hybrid marketing storyteller with a unique approach to brand strategy that has helped shape professional online representation for companies of all revenue sizes—from nonprofits and startups to multi-billon dollar businesses. Allow me to share with you what makes me a little different.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Editing & Publishing with a minor in Applied Speech Sciences. My first instinct is to see the world through a storyteller’s lens, identifying elements such as character, setting, and plot everywhere I go. This translates incredibly well to the business sphere: our employees become our grounding characters, our workspace and online platforms are our setting, and the brand mission is the plot that drives us to action.
“It might sound good in theory, but does it hold up when implemented?”
YES! In 2022, I was working as the social media marketing intern for Pacific Seafood when I used this approach. I conducted a full audit of their seven customer-facing social media platforms (reaching an audience of 87,000+) and identified content pillars we could utilize to better tell the brand’s story:
- Who are the humans behind the brand? How do they show care and commitment to delivering high quality product? (Character)
- Where does the company source its products, and where can customers buy it? (Setting)
- How do the company’s products solve a key problem for the customer? How are they continuing to strive for excellence in bringing that product to the customer? (Plot)
As one social media specialist handling all of the content creation and scheduling, this strategy allowed me to increase our brand viewership by more than 667,000 impressions.
That transformative experience revealed how much I love being a “full-stack” marketer who can get behind a company’s mission and help drive traffic to the customer that really needs us. In addition to my fun summer internship, I’ve utilized storytelling in many long-term professional positions such as:
- Gallery Exhibition Designer at Brigham Young University
- Responsible for the design, print production, installation, and management of large-format interactive displays, while overseeing advertisements for our 40+ on-campus student programs
- Publications Designer for the Ballard Social Impact Center
- Designed, typeset, prepped for print, copyedited, and proofread their entire 20th Annual Report distributed to program donors and alumni
- Campaign Coordinator, then Community Engagement Specialist for Idaho Drug Free Youth
- Managed a team of social media ambassadors, provided internal design and strategy training, developed print and digital campaigns, built a chapter manual used by 65+ chapters statewide, and created a full suite of social media templates to simplify the marketing process
- Editorial Designer at Melaleuca, Inc.
- Created advertisement spreads and article layouts for their private-sector business magazine that reached both domestic and international audiences, with a readership of 30,000+ and publications translated into multiple languages
- Board Secretary of the Idaho Writers Guild
- Built and maintained the organization’s CMS, including their website, domain hosting, online member spaces, membership transactions, and segmented email marketing to drive membership while supporting the Board’s event organization and internal correspondence
And of course, when I’m not working I’m still working. I’m a driven overachiever who uses spare time to upskill, experiment, and build my own personal projects, many of which have proven to be impactful as well.
- My digital marketing and brand strategy skills are at work every day with hands-on content creation as I build an online platform of 12,000+, utilizing short-form and long-form social media content for engagement, automated lead generation tools to build a mailing list of 800+, and a segmented mailing list to nurture connections into sales for my own digital products.
- I’m constantly studying storytelling structure and strong written communication as a budding novelist represented by a literary agency. Storytelling is not a hobby, but a high-stakes investment that I treat as a non-negotiable skill in business because of its incredible power to convert.
At the end of the day, I’m an ambitious, hybrid marketing professional equipped with essential skills to help tell your brand’s story the way no one else can. I can’t wait to connect and learn about what inspires you.
